Vineetha Alugaddala is a teacher of Ikebana, a traditional Japanese art of arranging flowers.

She has practised and taught it for more than 37 years.

Japan has chosen her for an award.

The award recognizes her efforts to share Japanese culture and build friendship between India and Japan.

Japan’s Consul-General in Chennai, Takahashi Muneo, is expected to present it in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Alugaddala has also helped lead the Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter.

She has shared Ikebana through classes, demonstrations and exhibitions.

Recently, she gave a demonstration at a conference in Manila.
