Balanced Pitch Set for India-Sri Lanka Second Test
Sri Lanka and India are preparing for their second Test cricket match.
The match will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Sri Lanka may make a pitch that helps both batters and bowlers.
Officials do not want an extremely dusty pitch that mainly helps spin bowlers.
They worry that such a pitch could also make things harder for Sri Lanka’s young batters.
Sri Lanka is without several experienced players.
India won the first match by 165 runs.
The second Test begins on August 23.
In the past, Sri Lanka was very strong at this ground, but its results became less successful after several famous players retired.
Sri Lanka is considering a balanced pitch for the second Test at Colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club.
Officials want to avoid a dustbowl and give batters and bowlers comparable opportunities.
Sri Lanka is missing experienced players including Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka.
India won the first Test at Galle by 165 runs to lead the two-match series 1-0.
Sri Lanka’s record at the SSC declined after the retirements of Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.
