Cochin Shipyard Delivers Third Anti-Submarine Craft to Indian Navy

Cochin Shipyard Limited has given the Indian Navy a new ship called Mangrol.

It is the third ship of its type delivered to the Navy.

The ship is designed to find and track submarines in shallow coastal waters.

It can also help with underwater surveillance and mine warfare.

The vessel can support low-intensity maritime operations.

More than 80% of the ship was made using resources from India.

It uses water jets, torpedoes, rockets, radars, and sonars.

Its name comes from a coastal town in Gujarat.

The name also remembers an older Indian Navy minesweeper called INS Mangrol.
