Officials Report ₹66 Crore Paddy Shortage Across Three Mills

Government officials checked three rice mills in Wanaparthy district.

They were looking for paddy that the government had given the mills to process.

Officials said large amounts of paddy were missing from the mills’ stocks.

Two Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara mills were reported to be short of 3,51,183 bags.

The alleged shortage at those mills was valued at ₹52 crore.

Another mill, Bhagyalakshmi Agro Industries, was reported to be short of 1,372 bags.

Officials valued that shortage at about ₹14 crore.

Police complaints and cases are being pursued over the alleged diversion of the paddy.
