West Bengal to open grievance cells in urban areas
West Bengal is opening special grievance cells in all its cities and towns.
These cells will be open from 10 am to 6 pm and will have officers to take and solve complaints about city services.
This is to make sure people can easily report problems and get help without having to visit officials in person.
The state already has a program called 'Mukhomukhi' where people can talk directly to the minister about their issues.
The new grievance cells will help make this program work better by handling more complaints at the local level.
West Bengal will open grievance redressal cells in all urban local bodies.
Cells will operate from 10 am to 6 pm with nodal officers to handle complaints.
The move covers 121 municipalities, notified area authorities, and 7 municipal corporations.
The decision follows complaints about difficulties in reaching officials and rude behavior.
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation already has a grievance system with a dedicated number and WhatsApp Chatbot.
