Palghar’s ‘Fourth Mumbai’ Villagers Still Risk Railway Tracks

Palghar’s ‘Fourth Mumbai’ Villagers Still Risk Railway Tracks

Vadhiv is a village in Palghar with more than 4,000 people.

The village does not have a proper road connecting it to the main road.

Because of this, people often cross railway tracks to leave their homes.

Children cross the tracks to attend school, which can be very dangerous when trains approach.

Villagers say 22 people have been killed by trains while crossing.

They also say 20 others died because they could not get medical help quickly.

Local representatives have raised the issue with authorities several times.

The villagers want a real road and a clear deadline instead of more promises.
