KSRTC Kerala Grants Free Bus Travel to Cancer Patients for Treatment
Kerala's bus company, KSRTC, is now letting cancer patients ride any of their buses for free.
This helps them get to treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.
To get this free ride, patients need to apply online for a special card called an RFID card.
They have to send in a picture of themselves, their ID, proof of where they live, and a special note from their doctor.
If everything is correct, the card will be mailed to them.
The bus company also said that if anyone fakes the papers, they will be in trouble and their card will be taken away.
Before, patients only got a half-price ticket for certain buses to a specific cancer center.
KSRTC in Kerala has announced free bus travel for cancer patients for treatment purposes.
The free travel applies to all KSRTC bus services, from ordinary to superfast.
Patients must apply for a special RFID card online by submitting required documents.
Required documents include a photograph, Aadhaar card, proof of address, and an oncologist's certificate.
Previously, cancer patients received a 50% concession only on ordinary and city services for travel to the Regional Cancer Centre.
