Srikrishna Janmashtami Celebrations Draw Devotees Across Godavari Districts
People across several Godavari districts celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna.
They visited temples from early in the morning.
Priests performed special prayers and bathing ceremonies for the idols.
Temples were decorated with flowers, lights and rangoli designs.
People also sang bhajans and held cultural programmes.
Many places organised a traditional celebration called Utti Mahotsavam.
Children and young people joined these events in large numbers.
At Gokulam Temple in Kakinada, children dressed as Krishna and received gifts.
Janmashtami was celebrated on Friday across five Godavari districts.
