India Regulator Questions Who Owns Insurance Customer Experience

India Regulator Questions Who Owns Insurance Customer Experience

India’s insurance regulator has shared ideas about how insurance is sold.

The ideas are in a paper called “Recalibrating Economics of Insurance Distribution.”

The regulator released it on 23 September.

People can send comments until 25 October.

These ideas are proposals, not final rules.

The paper raises a question about who looks after customers after they buy insurance.

It asks who owns the customer’s experience once the sale is over.

The regulator is asking for views before deciding on rules.
