Hyderabad Police Transfer ACP Over Corruption Allegations
The police chief in Hyderabad, India, has moved a high-ranking officer named Mohd Munawar to a different job because people say he did some bad things.
They say he took money from other police officers and did not do his job properly.
The police chief is very upset about this and has started an investigation.
In 2025, the police have already suspended 10 officers for doing bad things, like taking money from criminals and not doing their jobs right.
Two of these cases are very serious.
One officer helped a couple who did a very big financial fraud escape by taking money from them.
Another officer sold his service pistol and some gold that was taken from a thief.
The police are trying very hard to stop corruption in their department.
Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar transferred ACP Mohd Munawar to City Armed Reserve over corruption allegations.
Allegations include forming special teams to collect money and acting harshly against disobedient police personnel.
An inquiry has been ordered, and action will be taken based on the report.
In 2025, 10 police personnel, including five station house officers, were suspended for corrupt practices.
Sensational suspension cases involve facilitating the escape of financial fraudsters and selling seized property.
