India Online Festive Sales Seen Reaching Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore
Online shopping during India’s festive season is expected to become much bigger this year.
Sales could reach about Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
More people are expected to shop online, increasing from 138 million to 158 million.
Shoppers may also place more orders than last year.
However, each order may be worth slightly less money on average.
Mobile phones may make up a smaller share of sales because they are becoming more expensive and less available.

Online festive-season sales in India are projected at Rs 1,50,000–Rs 1,55,000 crore this year, up 25–29% from Rs 1,20,000 crore in 2025.
The number of festive shoppers is expected to rise from 138 million to 158 million, while orders may increase to 966 million.
Average order value is projected to decline from Rs 1,578 to Rs 1,554 despite higher overall sales.
Mobile phones’ share of festive sales may fall to 29.8%, while grocery’s share is projected to reach 9.5%.
The forecast, by Datum Intelligence, attributes growth partly to more shoppers, increased orders per shopper and quick-commerce grocery purchases.
