India to Resume Tourist Visas, Considering Easing Chinese Investment
India is going to start giving tourist visas to Chinese people again, which is a sign they are trying to be friendlier.
Also, India's government is thinking about making it easier for Chinese companies to invest in India, like buying parts of Indian businesses, without as many checks.
This is because India wants more money to come into the country from other countries.
The government is hoping this will help bring in more money and make it easier for businesses to work together, after previous tensions on the border.
India will resume tourist visas for Chinese citizens starting July 24, after five years.
The Niti Aayog recommended easing restrictions on Chinese investments in India.
Current rules require security clearances for investments from countries sharing a land border with India.
The proposal includes allowing Chinese companies to acquire up to 24% stake in Indian firms without clearance.
This move is part of efforts to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) into India.
