Coimbatore MP Orders Faster UGD and Water Project Completion
The Member of Parliament in Coimbatore wants the city to finish installing new water and sewage pipes quickly.
Some council members are upset because roads are not being fixed because of the pipe laying.
The city says most of the pipe work is almost done, and the water project is mostly complete.
The city is waiting on state and national roads to be repaired after the pipelines are laid, causing some delays.
MP Ganapathy Rajkumar directed officials to expedite UGD and water supply pipeline work.
Councillors alleged road relaying delays due to pipeline work.
98% of UGD work is over on the Kurichi-Kuniyamuthur stretch.
80% of the 24x7 water supply project has been completed.
Road repair on National Highways and State Highways faces delays.
