VinFast Expands in India Amid US Challenges
VinFast, a company that makes electric cars, is part of a big Vietnamese group called Vingroup.
They are planning to invest a lot of money in India to make more electric vehicles and build new factories.
This is because their business in the US is not doing well due to some new rules and taxes.
In India, they are making electric cars, buses, and even two-wheelers.
They think India is a great place to grow because more people there are buying electric vehicles.
They are also going to build smart cities and theme parks in India.
Even though they are having some problems in the US, they still think both the US and India are important markets for them.
VinFast plans to invest $5 billion in India, including $500 million for EV expansion in Tamil Nadu.
The company is scaling back its US operations due to tariffs and market instability.
VinFast's US dealerships have decreased to 22, with EV sales halving compared to last year.
In India, VinFast sold 700 EVs in three months and plans to expand dealerships to 35 by year-end.
Vingroup will also invest in real estate, tourism, and renewable energy projects in Telangana.
