Buccaneers to Activate WR Chris Godwin from PUP List
Chris Godwin, a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is coming back from an injury.
He's been on the 'injured' list, but he's now moving to the active roster.
This means he can start practicing with the team soon, but he won't play in games right away.
He's aiming to start playing again in October 2025.
While he's out, other players like Mike Evans and a rookie named Emeka Egbuka will have more chances to catch the ball.
Last season, even though he only played a few games, Godwin caught the ball a lot and scored touchdowns, so his return will be a boost to the team.
Chris Godwin will be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and added to the Buccaneers' 53-man roster.
Godwin is not expected to play immediately and is targeting a return in October 2025.
The Buccaneers are allowing Godwin to practice starting Week 2 by keeping him on the active roster instead of injured reserve.
With Godwin sidelined early, Mike Evans, Emeka Egbuka, and Cade Otton are expected to see increased targets.
Godwin recorded 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns in five games last season.
