Jindal Stainless Raises Coin Blank Capacity as Global Demand Grows

Jindal Stainless Raises Coin Blank Capacity as Global Demand Grows

Jindal Stainless makes round metal pieces that mints turn into coins.

These pieces are called coin blanks.

The company plans to make 12,000 tonnes of them each year instead of 10,000 tonnes.

Its factory in Hisar supplies mints in India and other countries.

The company expects more people and countries to want metal currency.

It says stainless steel can have a lower carbon footprint than some alternatives.

Each mint gives exact instructions for the size and metal mixture it needs.

The factory is also planning to use more green energy.
