AKTC to Maintain Qutb Shahi Heritage Park
The Qutb Shahi heritage park in Hyderabad is going to be managed by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) under a public-private partnership.
This means the park will be taken care of better, with more visitors and higher conservation standards.
The park has many old tombs, mosques, and gardens.
The government and AKTC worked together to restore the park, and now AKTC will maintain it.
This is a big park with lots of history, and the new management aims to keep it beautiful and well-preserved for everyone to enjoy.
The Qutb Shahi heritage park in Hyderabad will be managed by AKTC under a PPP model starting August 1.
The park spans 108 acres and includes 40 royal mausoleums, 23 funerary mosques, and other historic structures.
The initiative aims to improve conservation, landscape upkeep, visitor management, and sustainable tourism.
The restoration project was completed in July 2024, involving collaboration between AKTC, the heritage department, and the Quli Qutb Shah urban development authority.
This model may be considered for other forts and heritage sites in the state.
