Andhra Pradesh to Solarize Pumps Under PM-KUSUM
Andhra Pradesh is working on a plan to power a lot of its farmers' water pumps with solar energy.
They're planning to use the PM-KUSUM scheme to make this happen.
The goal is to install many solar plants, and it will be about 12 months to get this done.
Government officials are working with the discoms (power companies) to ensure the project moves quickly.
This should provide farmers with reliable power and make use of clean energy.
Andhra Pradesh aims to solarize 2.93 lakh agricultural pump sets and 1,156 feeders.
The project has a total capacity of 1,162.8 MW.
The initiative is under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
Discoms were directed to accelerate project implementation.
