EPFO Simplifies EPF Advance Rules Across Key Financial Needs

The EPFO has grouped EPF advance rules into three categories.

The first category covers essential needs such as illness, education, and marriage.

There is no specified limit for illness-related withdrawals.

Education advances can be used up to 10 times, while marriage advances can be used up to five times.

The second category covers housing needs.

Members can use it for buying or building a home, repaying a home loan, or improving a house.

The third category covers special circumstances notified by the Central Board and can be used twice in a financial year.

Members may generally withdraw up to 75% of their EPF balance after completing 12 months of membership.
