UP Board Orders 33 Districts to Enforce Online Attendance
The UP Board has told secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh to record attendance online every day.
The rule applies to students, teachers and other school workers.
It covers government, aided and self-financed schools.
Schools can use the board’s website or mobile app.
The board found that very few schools were using the system in 33 districts.
In each of those districts, 10% or fewer schools were registering attendance online.
The board said this showed that its instructions were being ignored or not properly supervised.
District School Inspectors now have six days to make sure every school registers attendance.
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has made 100% daily online attendance mandatory in secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh.
The requirement covers students, teachers and non-teaching staff at government, aided and self-financed schools.
The UPMSP found that 10% or fewer schools were registering online attendance in 33 districts.
Prayagraj, where the board is headquartered, was among the districts with low compliance.
