Albanese marries partner in historic ceremony

The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, got married to his partner, Jodie Haydon, in a private ceremony at The Lodge in Canberra.

The ceremony was small and attended by family and close friends.

Albanese is the first Australian Prime Minister to get married while in office.

The couple will go on a honeymoon in Australia next week, with all expenses paid privately.

They walked down the aisle to Ben Folds’ The Luckiest and had their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s The Way You Look Tonight.

Haydon wore a dress by Sydney designer 'Romance was Born', while Albanese wore a suit from MJ Bale.

The couple's niece and Albanese's dog played special roles in the ceremony.

Several leaders and cabinet ministers attended the wedding, and the Opposition Leader conveyed her best wishes.
