Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express Launch Update
Indian Railways has finished a big train project called USBRL that connects Kashmir to the rest of India.
This project is very difficult and covers many districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
Right now, passenger trains only go to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
The Railway Minister has not yet said when the new Vande Bharat Express train will start running from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar.
The 272-km-long Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project has been completed, connecting Kashmir to the rest of India.
The USBRL project is one of the most challenging railway projects undertaken post-independence.
The project covers districts of Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam, and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir.
Passenger train operations from the Valley are currently limited to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK).
The Railway Minister has not yet announced the start date for the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express from Jammu Tawi.
