EU Updates Money Laundering List; UAE Removed, Monaco Added
The EU, a group of countries in Europe, has changed its list of places that might be risky for money laundering.
Money laundering is when people try to hide where their money comes from.
They took the United Arab Emirates off the list because they think it's less risky now.
But they added Monaco and other countries, like Algeria, because they need to watch those places more closely to stop money laundering.
This means the EU wants to make sure money is earned honestly and isn't being used for bad things.
The EU removed the United Arab Emirates from its high-risk money-laundering list.
Monaco was added to the list, alongside nine other jurisdictions.
The European Commission made the announcement on Tuesday.
Other countries added to the list include Algeria, Angola, and Ivory Coast.
Barbados, Gibraltar, Jamaica, and Panama were among those removed.
