French Street Artist Freed After 14 Months Imprisonment in Azerbaijan
Imagine a French artist who got in trouble in a faraway country called Azerbaijan for painting on a subway wall.
He was sentenced to spend three years in jail.
But guess what?
After being locked up for over a year, the president of Azerbaijan decided to let him go!
The artist is now back home in France.
French officials are very happy and proud that they worked hard to get him released.
They had previously said the artist was being treated unfairly compared to others in the same situation.
France has also warned its citizens to be careful about traveling to Azerbaijan because of potential legal problems.
A French street artist was pardoned and released from prison in Azerbaijan.
The artist, Theo Clerc, spent 422 days in detention.
He was initially sentenced to three years for graffiti in the metro.
France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot praised the diplomatic efforts.
