UP: School Transport Safety Drive Finds Thousands of Violations
The Uttar Pradesh government checked school buses and vans to make sure they were safe.
From July 1 to 15, they looked at many vehicles and found that over 4,000 were not following safety rules.
They also found some vehicles with expired certificates.
The government is now making sure that schools and transport officials keep checking the vehicles every month to keep kids safe.
If a vehicle is found unsafe, it will be stopped, and the school may face action.
The goal is to protect children on their way to and from school.
Uttar Pradesh conducted a statewide inspection of school transport vehicles from July 1 to 15.
Over 4,000 vehicles were found violating safety norms.
1,768 vehicles were operating with expired fitness certificates.
Authorities issued 4,438 challans, seized 913 vehicles, and collected Rs 88.52 lakh in penalties.
