India targets 200-ship Navy by 2035

India wants to have a big and strong navy with 200 ships by 2035.

This is to protect its interests in the Indian Ocean and to counter the growing naval powers of China and Pakistan.

India is building many of its ships locally, like the INS Mahendragiri and INS Malvan, which are made with a lot of Indian parts.

The country is also working with other nations, like Japan, to get advanced technologies.

China already has a very large navy, and Pakistan is getting new submarines from China.

India aims to be completely self-reliant in shipbuilding by 2047 and become one of the top five shipbuilding nations in the world.
