Maharashtra Smart Cities Near Completion
Maharashtra's smart cities are almost done with their projects.
They have finished 94% of the work, but there are still 19 projects left that cost ₹1,555 crore.
Some cities like Pune and Solapur have finished all their projects, while others like Nagpur and Kalyan-Dombivli have a few big projects still going.
The cities have spent a lot of money on basic things like water and roads instead of making them 'smart'.
The mission will end in March 2025, and there's no more money for it this year.
Maharashtra's eight smart cities have completed 94% of their projects under the Smart Cities Mission (SCM).
19 projects worth ₹1,555.38 crore are still pending, highlighting uneven progress across cities and sectors.
Pune and Solapur have completed all their projects, while Nagpur and Kalyan-Dombivli have significant pending projects.
Smart energy, social infrastructure, and environment projects have achieved 100% completion.
Smart mobility projects are lagging, with delays in road redesigns and intelligent transport systems.
