Saudi Arabia Announces $500M Yemen Development After UAE Withdrawal
Saudi Arabia has promised to spend $500 million on building things like hospitals, schools, and roads in Yemen.
This is after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) left the area.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia used to work together in Yemen, but they have some disagreements now.
Saudi Arabia also plans to build a special mosque on an important island called Socotra.
This is to help make Yemen a better and safer place for its people.
Saudi Arabia pledged $500 million for development projects in 10 provinces of southern Yemen.
Projects include hospitals, schools, roads, fuel donations, and a mosque on the island of Socotra.
The move follows the UAE's withdrawal and a Saudi-backed offensive against the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Saudi Arabia views the STC's advance as a threat to its national security.
The announcement was made by Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman during a meeting with Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council.
