Bombay HC questions delay in Disha Salian's death inquiry
Disha Salian, a former celebrity manager, died in 2020 after falling from a building in Mumbai.
The police are still investigating whether it was a suicide or if someone else was involved.
Her father, Satish Salian, has asked for a special investigation team (CBI) to look into the case and has accused a political leader, Aditya Thackeray, of being involved.
The court has asked the police why they are taking so long and why they are not giving her father all the documents related to the case.
The court also wants to see the post-mortem report.
Aditya Thackeray has said that the accusations against him are false.
The court will hear more about this on December 11.
The Bombay High Court questioned the delay in the police inquiry into Disha Salian's death, which occurred on June 8, 2020.
The court remarked that it has been five years and the police should have ascertained whether the death was a suicide or culpable homicide.
Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian, has alleged that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered and has sought a CBI probe and an FIR against Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray.
The court directed the police to provide Satish Salian with legally permissible documents and to produce the post-mortem report.
Aditya Thackeray has filed an application to intervene, stating that the allegations against him are false and motivated.
