Chandigarh Unveils Urban Renewal: Railway, Housing and Amenities
The Chandigarh government is making big changes to land that was being used illegally.
They cleared out some areas and now plan to build new things like a train station, houses, schools, and shops.
They're going to build a new train station to help with traffic.
They'll also build homes, a school, and a shopping area to help the people living nearby.
Some land will be used for new houses, and there will also be a cycle path.
They plan to make sure the land stays safe and follows the city's rules.
Chandigarh Administration plans to transform over 50 acres of land freed from encroachment.
A new railway junction is planned for Sanjay Colony, easing pressure on the current station.
Janta Colony will see the construction of a dispensary, school, shopping complex, and community center.
Adarsh Colony will be merged into Sector 54 for a new residential housing scheme.
A 1,700-unit residential housing project is planned for a 32-acre site in Sector 54.
