India Unveils Largest Underground LPG Storage Cavern
India has built a giant underground storage space in Mangaluru for cooking gas (LPG).
This is the biggest one in the country, able to store a lot of gas.
It was built deep underground, connected to a special dock for easy gas transfer.
The project took a few years and cost a lot of money.
This new storage will help make sure there's enough gas for everyone, especially if there's an emergency.
It makes the area an important place for energy.
India inaugurated its largest underground LPG storage cavern in Mangaluru.
The facility can hold 80,000 metric tonnes of LPG.
Construction, approved in 2018, began in 2019 and cost Rs. 800 crore.
The cavern is 500 meters underground and linked to a floating jetty.
