Food Commission Intervenes After Nutrimix Disruption in Tribal Settlements

Amrutham Nutrimix is a food supplement given to children at anganwadis.

Some tribal children in Wayanad had not received the September supply.

Officials said the factories making the supplement had stopped production and distribution.

The Food Commission visited several tribal settlements to investigate.

It told officials to fix the supply problems quickly.

Some anganwadis may provide jaggery, green gram and millet instead.

Officials were also asked to help residents obtain ration cards.

They were told to bring more children to anganwadis and repair an unsafe public well.
