BMC Awards Mithi River Rejuvenation Project to Adani-Led SPV
The BMC has given a big project to a company led by Adani to fix the Mithi River in Mumbai.
This project will build a road, a wall, and special gates to stop flooding.
The BMC had to pay a little more than they planned because the chosen company asked for a higher price.
Some people from the Congress party say the BMC did not follow the rules fairly to give the project to Adani.
The BMC says they followed all the rules and chose the company that asked for the lowest price.
BMC awarded Mithi River rejuvenation project to Adani-led SPV with Akshaya Construction and Ashoka Buildcon Limited.
Project includes constructing a service road, protective wall, 25 floodgates, and one sewage treatment plant.
Adani-led SPV submitted final bids 7.1% above the base cost of Rs 1,700 crore.
Congress alleges malpractices in the tender process, claiming guidelines were violated to favor Adani.
BMC maintains the tender process was carried out as per rules, selecting the lowest bidder.
