MSCI India Index: Swiggy Addition and Eternal Weight Cut
MSCI, a company that creates stock market indexes, is updating its India Domestic Index.
Swiggy, Vishal Mega Mart, and Waaree Energies are being added, which could bring in a lot of investment to the new additions.
The changes will be in effect on August 26th.
Additionally, MSCI has reduced the weight of Eternal, a competitor of Swiggy, which may lead to investors taking their money out of the company.
Also, BlackBuck is added to the small cap index while EaseMyTrip is removed.
MSCI is adding Swiggy, Vishal Mega Mart, and Waaree Energies to its India Domestic Index.
Swiggy's inclusion may bring in $289 million in passive inflow.
MSCI has reduced the weightage of Swiggy's competitor Eternal to 2.49%.
The weight reduction for Eternal could result in a $607 million outflow.
BlackBuck will be added to the MSCI India Small Cap Index, while EaseMyTrip will be removed.
