TASMAC Raises Shop Maintenance Allowance With Location-Based Rates

TASMAC is increasing the money available to maintain its liquor shops.

The change begins on October 1.

Shops in cities will get the most, at Rs 5,000 each month.

Shops in municipalities and town panchayats will get Rs 4,000.

Rural shops will get Rs 3,000.

The money can pay for cleaning, drinking water and basic needs.

It cannot be used for rent, electricity, repairs, furniture or equipment.

Shop supervisors must keep records and save receipts for three years.

The allowance will increase by 5% each year starting in April 2027.
