Affordable Homes Reach 51% of Mumbai Region’s New Supply

Mumbai’s region added about 37,500 new homes in the third quarter of 2026.

More than half were in the affordable or lower-mid-budget price ranges.

Affordable homes cost less than Rs 40 lakh, while lower-mid-budget homes cost between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 80 lakh.

Together, these two groups made up 51% of new homes, compared with 39% in the previous quarter.

The report also found that affordable homes gained a larger share across seven major Indian cities.

Mumbai’s region had the biggest share of both new home launches and home sales among those cities.
