Reliance Leads Indian Firms on Fortune Global 500 List

The Fortune Global 500 list ranks the biggest companies in the world.

This year, Reliance Industries, owned by Mukesh Ambani, is still the highest-ranked Indian company, though its rank dropped slightly.

India has nine companies on the list, some from the government and some private.

Because the Indian money (rupee) became less valuable compared to the US dollar, Reliance's sales numbers looked a little smaller in US dollar terms.

However, Reliance still made a lot of money overall this year!
