Elephant Rescued After Two-Day Canal Ordeal
An elephant fell into a deep canal and couldn't get out.
People worked together for two days to save it using a big machine.
The elephant is now being checked by doctors because it was in the water for a long time.
A wild elephant fell into a 20-ft deep canal near Shivanasamudra, Malavalli taluk, and was rescued after two days.
Rescuers used a hydraulic crane to lift the elephant out of the canal after sedating it.
The elephant was then transported for medical observation due to suspected fungal infection on its leg.
Rescue operation was led by senior forest officers and involved reducing water flow and feeding the elephant before sedation.
The elephant was found missing from its usual zone on Sunday morning and was observed by officials throughout the day.
