IndiGo Shares Fall 2.5% Amid Weak Q1 Earnings
IndiGo Airlines, a major Indian airline, recently reported its earnings for the first quarter of the year.
The company's profits fell significantly because the cost of fuel increased a lot.
This made the company's shares drop by 2.5% in the stock market.
The price of oil, which is used to make fuel, has been going up because of some problems in the Middle East.
Even though the airline made more money from selling tickets, the high fuel costs made the overall profits go down.
Some experts still think the company's shares are a good buy and predict they will go up in the future.
IndiGo shares fell 2.5% due to weak Q1 earnings and rising fuel costs.
EBITDAR declined 34% YoY to Rs 37.5 billion.
EBITDA (excluding FX impact) fell 39% YoY to Rs 32.9 billion.
Yield increased 21% YoY to Rs 6, but fuel expenses rose to 44.1% of sales.
IndiGo posted an adjusted loss of Rs 3.8 billion, down from a Rs 21.6 billion profit YoY.
