Maura Higgins To Host Disney+ Reboot Of Blind Date
Maura Higgins is going to host a new version of the dating show Blind Date.
The show will be available on Disney+ in 2027.
In each episode, a contestant will choose one of three people they cannot see.
The potential matches will stand behind a wall.
This is the same basic idea used by the original show.
Blind Date first appeared on ITV in 1985.
It later returned on the UK channel 5 from 2017 to 2019.
Disney+ said the familiar show could help it stand out in a busy dating-show market.
Maura Higgins will host a new season of Blind Date in 2027.
The reboot will stream on Disney+ and retain the original format’s three-hidden-suitor choice.
Blind Date originally launched on ITV in 1985 and ran for nearly 20 years.
The format returned on Paramount’s UK network 5 between 2017 and 2019.
Disney+ executive Angela Jain said Higgins suits the show’s cheeky, witty and warm tone.
