YSRC Questions Liquor Scam Probe and Alleged Political Targeting

YSRC Questions Liquor Scam Probe and Alleged Political Targeting

The YSRC says a government investigation into a liquor case is being used against its leaders.

Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy questioned how the investigation is being conducted.

He said some accused people were being pressured to become approvers, or witnesses for investigators.

He also questioned why the estimated size of the alleged scam has changed.

The investigation covers liquor policies and distribution from 2019 to 2024.

Courts have recorded allegations about favored liquor brands and changes to supply procedures.

Govardhan Reddy said problems actually happened during an earlier term of the current Chief Minister.

He also claimed liquor sales rose under the current government without a similar increase in revenue.

The YSRC said it would continue pursuing the matter and seek accountability.
