India and Nepal Enhance Rail Trade Connectivity with Amended Transit Protocol

India and Nepal Enhance Rail Trade Connectivity with Amended Transit Protocol

India and Nepal have signed a new agreement to make it easier for trains to carry goods between their countries.

This agreement changes an older rule about how goods can travel through each other's lands.

Now, trains can carry more types of things, like big piles of stuff and regular shipping boxes, on special train routes.

These routes connect Nepal to important ports in India, like Kolkata and Visakhapatnam, and then to the rest of the world.

A train line between India and Nepal that opened last year is now being used more for this trade.

This helps both countries trade more and makes India's role as Nepal's biggest trading partner even stronger.

It also helps them work together on building better ways for goods to travel back and forth.
