Assam Congress Blames Government for Man-Made Floods in Assam

The Assam Congress, a political party in India, says the big floods in some parts of Assam were not just nature’s fault.

They think the government didn’t follow court orders that were meant to protect a river called Dikhow.

Because of this, people say illegal mining and sudden water releases made the floods worse.

The party wants the government to pay for the damage and to fix the river area.

They also want a special plan to help people who lost homes, crops, and animals.

The floods killed at least 75 people and hurt more than 332,000 people.

The Congress says the floods are a man-made disaster, not a natural one.
