Karnataka Warns of Drought, Water and Power Shortages

Karnataka is receiving less rain than expected.

This has created drought conditions in several parts of the state.

Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said people should prepare for possible shortages of water and electricity.

The government is making plans to provide drinking water.

It is also studying the drought and preparing a report for the central government.

A special meeting of the state legislature will discuss the problem and farmers’ concerns.
