Free Treatment Saves 176 Children with Blood Cancer
A special project called 'Donate a Life Project' at a hospital in Jaipur, India, has saved the lives of 176 children who had blood cancer.
The project gives free treatment to children with three types of blood cancer that can be cured.
The treatment costs a lot of money, so the hospital got help from a bank and kind people to pay for it.
So far, 168 children have been cured, 8 are still getting treatment, and 17 sadly passed away.
The project wants to make sure no child dies from a cancer that can be treated just because their family can't afford it.
The 'Donate a Life Project' at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital in Jaipur has saved 176 children with blood cancer.
The initiative provides free treatment for three types of curable blood cancers: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APML), and Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (HD).
The average cost of treatment is Rs 5 lakhs per child, which is unaffordable for many families.
Funding for the project comes from IndusInd Bank (Rs 5.25 crore over 5 years) and individual donors.
As of June 2025, 272 children were enrolled, 168 were cured, 8 are still under treatment, 17 died, and 79 were discharged for various reasons.
