Jarange Calls for Quiet Maratha Mobilisation Toward Mumbai

Manoj Jarange Patil is protesting for reservation-related demands for the Maratha community.

He started an indefinite hunger strike in a village in Maharashtra.

He wants eligible Marathas to receive Kunbi certificates.

These certificates could help them access benefits under the OBC reservation system.

Jarange asked supporters to travel to Mumbai quietly instead of arriving in one large group.

He told them to stay with relatives, friends or other hosts and wait for his signal before gathering publicly.

He also asked them not to go initially to Azad Maidan or the chief minister’s residence.

He called this approach a “guerrilla” strategy and asked protesters to remain peaceful and cooperate with police.

Authorities are preparing for possible traffic and law-and-order problems if very large numbers arrive.
