Court Clears Siddaramaiah in MUDA Land Case
A special court in Bengaluru has accepted a report that clears Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife of any wrongdoing in a land case.
The case was about land given to the CM's wife by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
The court said there wasn't enough evidence to prove the allegations.
However, the investigation will continue against other people involved.
The court also allowed the Enforcement Directorate to look into the case to a limited extent.
The next hearing is set for February 9.
The alleged scam involved the allotment of 14 high-value housing sites in exchange for 3.1 acres of land.
The Karnataka governor had approved prosecution against Siddaramaiah in September 2024.
A special court accepted the Lokayukta police's closure report, giving a clean chit to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife in the MUDA land allotment case.
The court allowed further investigation to continue against other accused persons and fixed the next hearing for February 9.
The court rejected the complainant's plea seeking contempt of court proceedings against the Investigating Officer.
The Enforcement Directorate has the right to intervene in the case as aggrieved persons for a limited extent.
The alleged scam pertains to the allotment of 14 high-value housing sites in Mysuru’s Vijaynagar area to Parvathi in 2021 by the Mysore Urban Development Authority under a state government scheme.
