New Sports Governance Bill Introduced to Oversee Federations, BCCI Included
Imagine the government wants to make sports in India better.
They've proposed a new bill!
This bill creates a special group, the NSB, to watch over all the sports groups.
The NSB will make sure sports groups follow the rules, and they also have to get permission from NSB to get money from the government.
There's also a special court for sports, the Tribunal, to solve any arguments.
If a sports group doesn't hold elections fairly, the NSB can take action.
The bill wants to improve sports and reduce problems.
Sports Minister introduced a National Sports Governance Bill in Lok Sabha.
The bill proposes a National Sports Board (NSB) to oversee federations, including the BCCI.
NSFs must gain NSB recognition to access central government funding.
The bill introduces a National Sports Tribunal to resolve disputes.
The bill also provides for a National Sports Election Panel.
