SNL Christmas Update Skips Full Joke Swap
On Saturday Night Live's Christmas episode, the Weekend Update segment usually ends with a Joke Swap between co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che.
But this time, they didn't do a full Joke Swap.
Instead, Michael Che wrote some jokes for Colin Jost to read.
These jokes included some funny and maybe a little inappropriate comments about Colin's wife, Scarlett Johansson, and other topics like civil rights coins and menopause.
It was a shorter version of their usual Joke Swap, and it was different because it didn't include both hosts swapping jokes like they usually do.
The show ended with a fun segment featuring former cast member Aidy Bryant and departing cast member Bowen Yang playing their Trend Forecasters characters.
SNL's Christmas episode featured an abbreviated, one-sided Joke Swap during Weekend Update.
Colin Jost read jokes written by Michael Che, including ones about his wife Scarlett Johansson.
The Joke Swap was shortened to avoid overshadowing the Trend Forecasters segment that closed the show.
Jokes included topics like civil rights coins, menopause, and actress Jenna Ortega.
The segment was a departure from the usual full-blown Joke Swap tradition.
