Pune: AI Traffic Cameras Record 200 Violations on Day One
Imagine some new smart cameras have been put up on a busy road to catch people breaking traffic rules.
These cameras use special computer brains, like AI, to spot things like cars parked where they shouldn't be or driving on the wrong side of the road.
When a car does something wrong, the camera takes a picture and automatically sends a ticket.
The first day they started, the cameras caught 200 people breaking the rules.
The police hope this will make it easier to manage traffic and avoid arguments with drivers.
They plan to put these cameras on more roads soon so they can keep an eye on even more traffic.
AI-enabled cameras were inaugurated on Fergusson College Road to monitor traffic.
The cameras automatically generate challans for traffic violations.
200 traffic violations were recorded on the first day.
The initiative aims to reduce arguments between motorists and police.
The project will expand to other roads in Pune.
